Cien Nature - Natural skincare from Lidl

by - 12:59

I was roaming around in Lidl this other week when my eyes got caught by a cute little stand filled with face creams. Immediately I was drawn to it like a magnet to discover that what I was looking at was a stand filled with products from Lidl's own natural skincare brand; Cien Nature. These products even have a Natrue-certification.

I was delighted to find these as I've slowly drifted to use only natural certified skincare in the past year and my skin has never been happier. To find some even in Lidl made me very pleased. I think skincare doesn't need to cost a fortune to be good and these products really don't cost much; 1,50€ per creme. Lidl has been the unlikely goldmine for skincare and bath products lately but the only irritating part in their assortment is that it's very seasonal and they have a lot of one time only kind of products.

Anyhow, I picked up the soothing wild rose night- and day creme for dry skin.

My skin is the definition of a dry and grumpy skin. I have very little pimples and such, but dry red spots and irritation are my weekly guest. So I am drawn towards these kinda of soothing and moisturizing products. So when I saw these in the shop I was immediately sold and put them straight to use.

First thing I noticed with this product was the rather intense rosy scent. Like, it's seriously like a field full of rose petals put into a tube. But this again is a matter of taste. My boyfriend think it smells nice and I think it smells like one those grannies in the grocery shops who have gone seriously overboard with their perfume. The scent was so intense for a moment I was afraid I'd not be able to use this product without getting a day of headache.

Luckily the scent doesn't stay very long on your face when you apply the product and both of the products are so creamy that you don't even need to put so much on your face that the scent sticks.

The consistency of both of the cremes is pretty nice. The day creme is much lighter, but still moisturizing and the night creme this kinda medium thick, almost yogurt consistency. Both cremes sink into the skin really quick and leave it nice and moisturized. My skin is nice and smooth in the morning instead of flaky and dry.

Despite being a night and day creme, these products feel very similar in use. I've still used them on the designated time of day but in the end I think there isn't that much difference between these two cremes outside the thickness.

What comes to the packaging, Lidl has really upped their game with their recent products. The cremes are packed in handy and easy to use tubes and have rather nicely designed packaging that doesn't scream "oh I'm a 1,50€ creme from Lidl!". The tube is easy to keep clean which is important. I hate products that gets stuck on the tube and turn it into a bacteria fest.

In use as mentioned both products are quite nice. But just nice, not mind blowing, but nice. I think nice is pretty good for their price and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Both products soothe and moisturize as promised, but aren't probably enough for very dry skin. The harsh scent can also be a deal breaker to some. But all and all I think they are worth a test if you seen them in your local Lidl!

Last but not least, the INCI! Left day creme and right night creme.
